I recently built and deployed a three-staged Generative Coding workshop using p5.js.
I introduce concepts from creative coding and generative art (going back as far as the 1960’s!) using p5.js, but no prior programming experience is required. We will build things step by step, observe closely, and allow room for experimentation, mistakes, and unexpected results.
Think of this workshop less as a lesson in coding, and more as a space to think visually, structurally, and playfully — using code as a way to explore patterns, behavior, and ideas. The workshop is geared toward art students, but anyone without prior experience can follow.
